Deveronvale v Keith, 8th November 2014
Two teams at the bottom half of the Scottish Highland Football League met at Princess Royal Park, Banff and a minutes silence was observed for former player and fan Morris “Uncle Mo” Gordon.
Keith took an early lead through a stunning free-kick into the top-corner by Michael Ewen on the 2nd minute. Both teams tried to press and on the balance of play, Keith won the first half. Stewart Hutcheon delivered a deep cross into the box and centre-back Fraser Strachan got between two defenders to head home Keith’s second goal. Disaster struck the visitors on the 45th minute when Craig Cowie barged into Michael Ralton. Ralton retaliated giving referee Wayne Cusiter no choice but to send him for an early bath, with Cowie escaping with a yellow card.
Craig Cowie pulled a goal back on 50minutes after some fine inter-passing and a determined run into the box before slipping the ball under the advancing Daniel Bell. Two minutes later, Graeme Rodger levelled the scores from a Liam Archibald pass and powered the ball into the net. Cowie added his second of the game with a penalty after Colin Charlesworth was fouled in the box. Colin Charlesworth who impressed throughout the game got his name on the score-sheet on 76minutes and although Michael Ewen scored Keith’s third on 81mins, Martin Charlesworth ensured any threat was quashed on the 88th minute. Final score 5-3
