Huntly v Formartine Utd, 1st November 2014

Christie Park was the venue for Huntly FC v Fomartine Utd FC and the home side were intent on showing that they are in a false position in the league. Both keepers were called on early and Fraser Hobday, in the Huntly goal, got down quick to save with his feet. His opposite number, Andrew Shearer, had two magnificent saves to deny Huntly before Cammy Keith slotted home a penalty after a clumsy tackle on Marek Madle on 20minutes.

Formartine Utd started to take control of the game and added two quick goals before the interval. Graham Hay headed home a Stuart Anderson corner on 44minutes before Marek Madle took advantage of space inside the 6yard box, one minute later, to score against his former employers.

The game was effectively over in the 47th minute with a superb header from Cammy Keith giving Fraser Hobday no chance. Huntly had chances to score with several individual runs on goal but Andrew Shearer could not be beaten. Neil McVittie added a fifth goal in the 69th minute with another header before Cammy Keith secured his hat-trick on 81minutes. Cammy Keith could have scored a fourth was it not for a superb save from Hobday and this will certainly be in amongst the nominations for SHFLtv save of the Season.

Interviews by Grant MacPherson-Turner with Steve “Pele ” Paterson (Formartine Urd Manager), Steven Dolan (Huntly Manager) and players Cammy Keith & Marek Madle of Formartine Utd.
